Overview
- RS would have gone into the bathroom OSRS gold they didn't create bonds. Trade removal because the stop gap to stop rwting wrecked runescape. Because credit card companies were close to banning RS buys on their cards due to the fraud they had no choice. So, it was either we never get free trade again or buy bonds. I believe bonds was the thing to do.
You're right on your points but bonds did not get employed to combat the credit card problem. This was in 2007. If you say they'd gone to the toilet if not for bonds, how did they survive for all those 5 years since 2007 and became a lot more in the procedure? They didn't go into the bathroom with no bondsso the reverse till Jagex had the sums of money banks. In 2007 they were relative small.
It had been either bonds or runescape shut down years ago. Gold farmers used credit cards to cover hundreds of memberships for hots and that cash was becoming refunded through banks to the original account holders. Cause that occurred much, banks advised Jagex that you either need to sort this out or we wont perform trades with you anymore cause of this great amount theft on involving your match going. They needed to do something cause that would have killed the method they accept obligations for membership from round the world.
The only- reason that you have to play OSRS, and possess this debate and totally miss the point that I made that, is since Jagex made the decision to continue runescape without wilderness, free trade, and introduce bonds to combat gold farmers and stolen credit cards. That is all there's to it. Long before EOC was introduced, Jagex did these things to maintain runescape going. OP is complaining about Jagex's stance over a decade and a half ago compared to now, probably entirely unaware of the challenges Jagex faced and also the reasons they left the choices they did.You only get to play with OSRS due to MTX whether you want to accept that or not, since Jagex made the decision to maintain runescape working with MTX and did exactly what they had to do to keep vendors doing business together. There's nothing to argue about this fact. Goodbye.
Great questions. I have experience with MMO servers over the years breezed through this area that was challenging. There are no physics calculations host side, at the moment it's all only distance tests. It's all validated to deter any type of customer side false data. It runs fine today, but scaling cheap RS gold to tens of thousands of users is just another story. This is harder to test in the moment but it's having a network library that is lightweight that is fast, just add some multithreadijg in and it should be sufficient on a server.
