I would imagine a massive complication to this involves

Personal speculation: PSO2 is being ported into the NGS engine to keep players occupied involving NGS content releases. No new content will be released for it outside of makeup, of which will all be obtained/ported from NGS events/scratches to have people to play with that. It'll be removed after a couple of meseta pso2 years after all the players have migrated and the only people in the PSO2 cubes are diehards holdouts/nostalgia. Probably. It is a new game so chances are like any Online RPG the initial release will not have much in regards to an endgame for the players who hit max level on day 1. It will be nice to simply switch cubes anytime I want struck up an older UQ though. There's never a reason not to visit magatsu.

Great FAQ, answers a lot of my initial doubts.

Gosh, this seems so complex. On the one hand, kudos for keeping the game intact so there won't be a riot over fluctuations people don't like. But on the flip side, since they're remaking base PSO2 visuals anyway, I wish they would just go 100 percent and synchronize character models completely. Giving old players some free fashion items and unlocks would be sufficient to bribe everyone to accept the new system.

Synchronizing 100% character models doesn't seem easy. The problem is that the older outfits and layer use are modeled to fit the older pso2 body. To be able to synchronize it, they would have to recreate from scratch (haha pun) 8 years of cosmetics. That is unlikely to happen. Well, I mean that I would be willing to shed a certain proportion of those cosmetics to help keep things intact around versions. As long as there's a steady feed of cool new stuff to replace it, I do not mind. I always rotate out my old looks anyway. So long as the character models translate 1:1 it will still feel just like mine.

I would imagine a massive complication to this involves a great deal of the cosmetics from the Japanese side of things that were exclusive to collaborations, promotional events, and events which no longer exist. The example I can think of is the Monster Hunter Frontier Z cooperation where I can imagine the clothes and weapons could unquestionably be provided a visual upgrade together with everything else but I don't exactly understand how the licensing or the way the legal side of this collaboration functions where I'd wish it was as simple as Sega going through and updating the assets but I do not know about just how much Capcom is involved in cheap PSO2 Meseta that procedure.
