I do not have Jagex directly saying skillcapes caused botting, just that RS2 was out for over 2 years until Skillcapes came out and
RS gold we did not have uncontrolled botting. However together being out F2P worlds were inoculated together in 6 weeks of Skillcapes and tens of thousands were banned every week for purchasing gold. Your passive tone with every response whilst offering absolutely nothing is shit btw.
Different poster. Correlation doesn't equal causation. Bots increase based on ease of accessibility to computing, understanding that Runescape is number of players in general, and one which may be botted for profit. Botting will constantly increase since the playerbase or popularity of Runescape increases, since there's more money to be made. This rise was not alone caused by skillcapes.
I really don't have a counterargument for your point specifically. I just felt like saying that, while in theory that the argument that Runescape will be better with them might be right, I would be less interested in that match. Skillcapes and Max cape are why I created my 1 and only OSRS account and they are why I continue to play Runescape. If one mechanic at a match is the driving force behind my 3000+ hours in said game, it is difficult to participate in a thought experiment where it's removed. Just a few thoughts.
To take it a step further I even feel this way about achievement diaries. I like the idea of rewarding players to having a account. The mole is completely destroyed by the falador achievement diary. What needs to be a pleasure, mid level, low attempt boss be basically secured behind 70 prayer, 72 slayer, 56 runecrafting, and a shitton of mining at motherload mine that all have nothing to do with your ability to strike a major mole with a big axe.
I have a family, I've got a job, I maxed in under 3 decades. I might not have everything I want, but I realized my goal. I am sure each of the instances your son/daughter was wanting you would play peek-a-boo with them rather than grinding 99 rune crafting will be worth it in the long term. Just a edit - that I was not trying to be even a trolling smartass or condescending. This comment came from a place within me where one day not too long ago, my lovely little 2 year-old daughter (the spitting image of me) walked up to me at my computer desk and stated"Dad-Dad, up!". I knew that meant that
buy RuneScape gold she had been bored and wanted me to pick her up, sit on my lap and play some interesting games with her.
